Bill Petersen has over 40 years experience working with, consulting on, and teaching electrical protection applications.
He held numerous engineering staff positions with Qwest and Bell Communication Research. In past years he was a voting member/subject
matter expert for ANSI T-1 electrical protection standards and a subject matter expert in the Protection Engineers Group (PEG) of the
Exchange Carriers Standards Association. As an IEEE member he serves on the working committee for IEEE Standards 367, 487, 820, and 1590.
He has authored and/or taught many technical courses to over 4,000 students covering telecommunication transmission, electrical protection,
noise mitigation, and high voltage protection (HVP). For the past 16 years he has established a reputable client base
as President of Protection Technologies Inc.
